Exciting updates on AI scribes: new initiatives offer funding opportunities and guidance on vendors
We’re seeing exciting progress across Canada with the advancement of AI scribes in primary care – innovative tools that help automate clinical documentation so clinicians can spend more time with patients and less time on paperwork.
We’re especially grateful to Canada Health Infoway for launching a national AI Scribe Program that significantly reduces the financial strain on clinicians. Starting June 10, 2025, eligible primary care professionals can enroll in the program, which will fund up to 10,000 one-year AI scribe licenses.
The pre-qualified vendors that meet national standards, clinical practice guidelines, privacy and security requirements, and clinical usability, are;
- Autochart.ai (Aya Health Technologies)
- AutoScribe (Mutuo Health Solutions Inc)
- CareWay (MEDFAR)
- Empathia AI
- Mikata Health Inc
- Pippen AI
- Scribeberry
- Tali AI
- Well Health

Proven Benefits, Ongoing Evaluation and Support
Our team has been actively involved in several AI scribe evaluation initiatives, working closely with vendors, clinicians, and partners to assess real-world outcomes in primary care. These evaluations consistently show that AI scribes can support better patient-clinician interactions while significantly reducing administrative burden in clinical workflows.
However, technology alone is not enough. Our experience has shown that strong change management support is essential to successful and sustainable adoption. This includes helping teams integrate new tools into their workflows, offering hands-on training, and addressing privacy and clinical governance concerns early in the process. Check out this video testimonial below to learn more about how we support primary care to implement AI scribes seamlessly into their workflows.
