eReferral via eFax - It's Time to Axe the Fax Project

eReferral via eFax (Inital Phase)

The eReferral via eFax (Initial Phase) - It's Time to Axe the Fax project allows primary care clinicians to electronically send referrals to specialists who have not yet adopted eReferral.

Goal of the eReferral via eFax (Inital Phase)

The goal of the eReferral via eFax project is to support primary care clinicians in making referrals to specialists who have not yet adopted Ocean eReferral, by validating the effectiveness of an eFax platform, that is integrated with Ocean eReferral.  This platform will:

  • manage referrals sent through Ocean to receivers who have not yet adopted Ocean and still receive referrals via fax,
  • measure the rate of fax transmission failures and,
  • in the longer term, support a migration away from fax-based referrals to full adoption of eReferral.

eReferral via eFax (Initial Phase) Participants

The initial phase of this project is limited to a subset of clinicians in Burlington, Middlesex London OHT, and North West Toronto OHT. It is possible that this project could expand to include other regions in the future.
